Facebook commits $100 million to help small businesses during coronavirus pandemic

Facebook is committing $100 million in cash grants and ad credits. Sheryl Sandberg, COO at Facebook, wrote that Facebook will help 30,000 small businesses in over 30 countries where Facebook employees live and work.

The Small Business Grants programme is limited to countries where Facebook has offices. Companies based, for example, in Portugal, Austria, or Luxembourg do not have access to the program.

To be eligible for the Small Business Grants programme, companies need to have between 2 and 50 employees, have been in business for over a year, have experienced challenges from COVID-19, and be in or near a location where Facebook operates.

Without geographic restrictions, Google and TikTok recently announced an ad credit program amid the coronavirus pandemic.
