If you want to reap all of the benefits of cannabinoids without inhaling smoke, vaping is your next best option. That said, there are plenty of vaporizers out there to choose from, and that can make things difficult. There are those designed for extracts and those designed for dry herbs. If you want to mimic a smoking experience closely, a dry herb vaporizer is your best bet.

Today, we want to take a look at what is effectively one of the highest-rated dry herb vapes out there, the PAX Plus. The PAX Plus is a relatively new dry herb vaporizer to hit the market, and it’s already made quite an impact. It has absolutely stellar reviews across the board, and the reason for this is that it does what it is supposed to do quite brilliantly.

Right now, we are doing an in-depth review of the PAX Plus dry herb vaporizer. We’ll take a look at all of its main features and benefits, its pros and cons, the overall design, and give you a few notes about our overall impressions of it. By the end of today’s PAX Plus review, you will know whether or not it’s a good option for you.

What Is a PAX Plus Dry Herb Vaporizer?

The PAX Plus dry herb vaporizer is a dual-use pocket-sized vaporizer designed to be used with dry herb, or in other words, legal hemp and cannabis flower. It can also be used with cannabis concentrates. You literally just put a little bit of your favorite flower inside of the chamber, heat it up, and inhale the vapor.

Of course, many people choose to vaporize dry herbs instead of smoking them because they feel it may be healthier. There aren’t nearly as many toxic chemicals created through vaping as with smoking.

People really seem to like the PAX Plus because it’s small enough to fit into a pocket. It also comes with various vaporizing modes, a durable design, and fantastic battery life. It actually has quite a few features and benefits worth talking about, which we’re about to do below.

But wait, there’s more! As mentioned, the PAX Plus is dual-use. For those who like to dab, the device comes complete with an insert designed for use with cannabis concentrates. The fact that you can vape dry herbs and concentrates with one product is a pretty big deal in our books.

How to Use PAX Plus

The PAX Plus vaporizer is extremely easy to use. First, just select the right type of chamber for you. If you are vaporizing dry herbs, you’ll use the dry herb vaporizer, and if vaporizing concentrates, you use the concentrate insert.

Then, with the chamber full, either with dry herb or concentrate, insert it into the PAX Plus. With the chamber inserted, all you have to do is turn it on.

The PAX Plus should heat up instantly. At this point, all you have to do is push the button, take a pull, inhale, and start to feel the relaxing effects of your dry herb or concentrates.

If you’re vaping concentrates, it heats up even faster than when you vape dry herb. When vaping dry herb, you’ll have to wait for about 20 seconds for it to heat up, but that’s still pretty quick.

There are also four vaporizing modes to choose from, including efficiency, boost, flavor, and stealth. We’ll explain these in greater detail further below.

PAX Plus Vaporizer Review

Now that we know the basics about the device, let’s continue with our in-depth PAX Plus review.

About the Brand

PAX as a brand has been around for a few years now. This brand is all about creating cannabis devices and accessories that are as safe as possible to use. This means that all PAX devices heat and never burn. You’ll never find products from this brand that burn cannabis.

Vaporizing can be healthier than smoking, and PAX aims to allow people to reap the benefits of cannabis without having to use combustion.

Moreover, whether for the planet, for patients, or for people, PAX stands for sustainability, safe access, and social reform in the cannabis world. It’s just a very reputable and transparent brand that produces products designed to benefit both people and the planet.

In the Box

There are a few things that come included with your purchase here. This includes the charging cable to keep the battery charged, the multitool for cleaning and maintenance, a concentrate insert for cannabis concentrates, an oven lid and a half-packed oven lid, and a flat and a raised mouthpiece.

It also comes with a wire brush and 3D screens, as well as O-rings. This is everything you need to get started. The battery here is integrated and completely rechargeable.

Design

The design of the PAX Plus vaporizer is exceedingly simple, and this is exactly what most people love about it. It looks like a flat little rectangle that is 3.8 inches long. It’s not even a full inch thick, either.

It’s more than small enough to fit right into your pocket easily, and it fits comfortably into your hand as well. In terms of size, it’s definitely a convenient vaporizer.

You can take it with you anywhere on the go. On that note, the design is also very smart in terms of ease of use.

Features & Benefits

While writing the PAX Plus review, we discovered the vaporizer has quite a few features worth talking about, so let’s do that right now.

  •       One of the main features here, of course, is that this particular vaporizer can handle both flowers and concentrates. It comes complete with inserts designed for both dry herbs and concentrates. You just have to choose the right insert, fill it, and put it in the vape.
  •       You’ll also like how this unit has a very fast heat time. This is particularly the case if we are talking about a dry herb. It takes just around 20 seconds, which isn’t the fastest heat-up out there, but it’s still pretty respectable. You don’t have to wait for a long time for your herb to heat up so you can take some hits.
  •       What also stands out is that the PAX Plus vaporizer comes complete with a rechargeable battery that lasts for up to around 2.5 hours or between 8 and 10 vaping sessions. Technically speaking, it should last for around 250 pulls. For those of you who don’t know, that battery life is quite impressive when compared to other vaporizers out there.
  •       The magnetic oven lid connection is also a pretty neat addition to the box. This means that the oven stays shut unless you choose to open it, so your dry herb or concentrates stay where they’re supposed to be.
  •       The fact that this vaporizer is so small, lightweight, and discrete is a pretty big deal too. You can easily fit it into your pocket. Even when you take it out of your pocket, most people won’t really be able to tell what it is at all. It’s stealthy, and that’s something many people are going to appreciate.
  •       Perhaps one of the best features here is that the PAX Plus vaporizer comes complete with four different modes, including efficiency, boost, flavor, and stealth. The efficiency mode makes sure that as much of your verb and concentrate gets vaporized as possible, therefore allowing for great cost-effectiveness. The boost mode is intended to provide you with massive hits. The flavor mode, as you can probably tell, is designed to maximize the flavor of your dry herb or concentrates. The stealth mode is designed to produce minimal vapors in order to remain discreet.

Ease of Use

As we’ve mentioned a couple of times now in the PAX Plus review, this vaporizer is exceedingly easy to use. All you have to do is fill your insert of choice with either dry herb or concentrate, put it in the vaporizer, turn it on, push a button, and take a pull. It really doesn’t get much easier than that. It even comes complete with a special 3D oven screen that you can take off completely for ease of cleaning. It’s definitely one of the most user-friendly units on the market at this time.

Temperature Controls

Now, the PAX Plus vaporizer doesn’t have temperature controls per se. You can’t choose a specific temperature. However, it does come complete with those four session modes: boost, flavor, stealth, and efficiency.

These are essentially the different temperature settings because they determine the vaporizing experience that you get. It’s not absolutely perfect, but it’s still more than good enough, and most people are more than happy with those four modes.

Materials

The vast majority of this unit, particularly the body, is made with aluminum alloy. This allows for lightweight durability because this aluminum alloy doesn’t weigh very much, yet it is still scratch and impact resistant.

This is the kind of vaporizer that you can drop a couple of times without having to worry too much about it breaking. All of the internal components are also designed to be fairly durable.

Colors

You might also appreciate how this vaporizer comes in four different colors, Onyx (which is essentially black), Periwinkle, Elderberry, and Sage. We do like how there is a bit of selection here.

Vapor Quality

The vapor quality from the PAX Plus is actually very high. The reason for this is thanks to those four different session modes.

You can achieve the vapor quality, consistency, and flavor that you need with every single hit. All the internal components are very high-quality, and they’re designed to produce the best result possible. This unit allows for smooth yet thick clouds.

Battery Life

Most people will also appreciate the battery life here, which is around 2.5 hours, 250 hits, or between 8 and 10 sessions. That’s quite impressive when compared to other vaporizers out there. No, it’s not the best battery life in the whole world, but it’s certainly nothing to look down at.

Pros & Cons

Just like with every other product out there, the PAX Plus vaporizer has both pros and cons.

Pros

  •       Compact, lightweight, and portable
  •       Intuitive and user-friendly design
  •       A few colors to choose from
  •       Can handle dry herbs and concentrates
  •       Comes with many accessories
  •       Durable and functional design
  •       Very easy to use
  •       Fast heating time
  •       Good battery life
  •       High-capacity chamber
  •       Four different session modes

Cons

  •       Does not have precise temperature control

PAX Plus Accessories

As mentioned above, there are plenty of accessories that come included here, including the mouthpieces, the oven lid, the concentrate insert, the multitool designed for cleaning purposes, the charging cable, the O-rings, and more. We particularly like the multitool because it makes cleaning the oven and packing it with your dry herb very easy.

How to Clean PAX Plus

To clean your PAX Plus, remove the dry herb that’s already been vaped and wipe down the inside of the oven chamber with a cotton swab or paper towel. However, you can also do a more intensive cleaning process.

First, remove the oven lid on the bottom. You can then remove the 3D screen and soak it in a dish with alcohol. Take a cotton swab and dip it in some isopropyl alcohol, and clean out the oven. Then use some paper towel to remove any remaining alcohol and to dry the unit. As you can see, cleaning this unit is very easy.

PAX Plus vs PAX 3

On the outside, both of these units look more or less the same. They have the same design, the same shape, come with similar accessories, and are both designed for both concentrates and dry herbs.

What’s pretty cool about the PAX 3 is that it also comes with four settings with specific temperatures, but you also have access to those experience modes through the smartphone app. What really stands out about the PAX Plus is that it’s much easier to use and clean.

Is the PAX Plus Worth Upgrading from the PAX 3?

If you want a super simple and easy-to-use vaporizer, then the PAX Plus is definitely worth the slightly higher price when compared to the PAX 3. It’s just a bit more user-friendly and designed for people on the go.

PAX Plus Vape Overall Impressions

Our overall impressions of the PAX Plus vaporizer or that it is a small, portable, compact, and exceedingly easy-to-use vaporizer designed for dry herbs and concentrate.

It doesn’t have the best temperature control settings, but those four experience modes are still pretty decent for providing you with the desired results.

This unit also has fantastic battery life, and it comes complete with all the accessories you need to get started and maintain the unit. All in all, we think it’s definitely worth the investment. We hope you found this PAX Plus review to be helpful in your decision-making process!

Samsung: 6-Day Workweek For Execs, Company in Emergency Mode

Samsung: 6-Day Workweek For Execs, Company in Emergency Mode

Four-day workweeks might have all the buzz, but one major tech company is going in the opposite direction.

Samsung is implementing a six-day workweek for all executives after some of the firm’s core businesses delivered lower-than-expected financial results last year.

A Samsung Group executive told a Korean news outlet that “considering that performance of our major units, including Samsung Electronics Co., fell short of expectations in 2023, we are introducing the six-day work week for executives to inject a sense of crisis and make all-out efforts to overcome this crisis.”

Lower performance combined with other economic uncertainties like high borrowing costs have pushed the South Korean company to enter “emergency mode,” per The Korea Economic Daily.

Executives at all Samsung Group divisions will be affected, including those in sales and manufacturing, according to the report.

Samsung had its worst financial year in over a decade in 2023, with the Wall Street Journal reporting that net profit fell 73% in Q4. It also lost its top spot on the global smartphone market to Apple in the same quarter, though it reclaimed it this year.

Though employees below the executive level aren’t yet mandated to clock in on weekends, some might follow the unwritten example of their bosses. After all, The Korea Economic Daily reports that executives across some Samsung divisions have been voluntarily working six days a week since January, before the company decided to implement the six-day workweek policy.

Entrepreneur has reached out to Samsung’s U.S. newsroom to ask if this news includes executives situated globally, including in the U.S., or if it only affects employees in Korea. Samsung did not immediately respond.

Research on the relationship between hours worked and output shows that working more does not necessarily increase productivity.

A Stanford project, for example, found that overwork leads to decreased total output. Average productivity decreases due to stress, sleep deprivation, and other factors “to the extent that the additional hours [worked] provide no benefit (and, in fact, are detrimental),” the study said.

Longer hours can also mean long-term health effects. The World Health Organization found that working more than 55 hours a week decreases life expectancy and increases the risk of stroke by 35%.

The same 55-hour workweek leads to a 17% higher risk of heart disease, per the same study.

John Deere Hiring CTO ‘Chief Tractor Officer,’ TikTok Creator

John Deere Hiring CTO 'Chief Tractor Officer,' TikTok Creator

This article originally appeared on Business Insider.

Agriculture equipment company John Deere is on the hunt for a different kind of CTO.

The brand on Tuesday announced a two-week search to find a “Chief Tractor Officer” who would create social media content to reach younger consumers.

One winning applicant will receive up to $192,300 to traverse the country over the next several months showcasing the way John Deere products are used by workers, from Yellowstone National Park to Chicago’s Wrigley Field and beyond.

“No matter what you do — whether it’s your coffee, getting dressed in the morning, driving to work, the building you go into — it’s all been touched by a construction worker, a farmer, or a lawn care maintenance group,” Jen Hartmann, John Deere’s global director of strategic public relations, told AdAge.

To kick off the search, John Deere tapped NFL quarterback Brock Purdy (who will presumably be a bit busy this Fall to take the job himself) to star in a clip in which he attempts to set out on a road trip in an industrial tractor.

Suited up in the obligatory vest, work boots, and John Deere hat, Purdy’s progress is interrupted by teammate Colton McKivitz hopping into the cab while a string of messages floods in from other athletes and influencers expressing interest in the job.

The clip also represents the first time that the 187-year-old company has used celebrities to promote itself, Hartmann told AdAge.

According to the contest rules, entrants have until April 29 at midnight to submit a single 60-second video making their pitch for why they should be the face and voice of the company.

In addition, entrants must live in the 48 contiguous states or DC — sorry Hawaii and Alaska residents. Interestingly, any AI-generated submissions are prohibited, too.

Videos will be judged against four categories — originally, creativity, quality, and brand knowledge — after which five finalists will be chosen and notified after May 17.

How to Capitalize On This Thriving Talent Pool to Drive Your Company’s Growth

How to Capitalize On This Thriving Talent Pool to Drive Your Company's Growth

Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own.

As business operations shift, executives and entrepreneurs are increasingly turning to an on-demand workforce that is simultaneously empowered by technology and drawn to purpose-driven projects.

Consider Upwork, whose 2020 Future of Workforce Pulse Report revealed that nearly 80% of hiring managers engaging freelancers feel confident about doing so. These hires provide coveted expertise — on a project-to-project basis — that entrepreneurs need to scale their operations without incurring long-term overhead costs.

This new market paradigm also promotes dynamism, with 79% of businesses agreeing that freelance talent enables greater innovativeness. Perhaps most telling, 84% of hiring managers utilizing it feel more assured about adapting to future disruption, compared to just 69% of those relying solely on full-time staff.

By capitalizing on freelance marketplaces, entrepreneurs can amplify employer branding, augment capabilities and future-proof organizations, even amid turbulence. As nearly 60% of hiring managers plan to increase engagement with freelancers over the next two years, the time is now for executives to realize their inherent potential.

The job market continues to shift

After a season of massive hiring, we’re back to seeing layoffs and downsizing. Companies are feeling the bloat—from unused office spaces with rising rent to oversized employee structures — and are shifting focus to hiring only the most essential positions. This leaves a critical talent gap needed for complex projects and specialized tasks. Highly skilled and specialized independents can fill this void.

A few key benefits to engaging them:

Access to niche experts: Platforms like Toptal and Guru provide access to elite professionals from leading Fortune 500 companies and innovative startups. Whether the need is for a machine learning specialist, growth strategist or financial modeler, entrepreneurs can now curate on-demand teams that boast specialized skillsets, enabling them to focus investment on projects with the highest strategic value.

Enhanced agility: Leading corporations increasingly “rent” skills by tapping freelance experts for initiatives involving new technologies or while entering unfamiliar markets. With niche contributors available to plug knowledge gaps, owners can explore ideas that once seemed unrealistic due to internal constraints—unlocking inventiveness and first-mover advantage.

• Stronger employment brand: Blending full-time employees with project-based freelancers signals a commitment to modernization and work-life balance. Offering both engaging work and flexibility will help draw exceptional candidates and help you compete with corporate giants for top-tier talent.

Tips for capitalizing on gig talent

Having explored the forces reshaping work, executives may wonder how to effectively leverage freelance platforms. After all, how can you know you’re getting your money’s worth if a hire isn’t physically present full-time?

• Define projects clearly: Contract hires thrive when expectations and deadlines are established upfront. So, clearly, detail needs around deliverables, success metrics, required skills and projected time investments. Staying ahead when it comes to communication and expectations will help avoid headaches, including delays.

• Build loyalty with talent: The best independent professionals have options regarding the projects they accept. Study their profiles to discern passions and incentives. Offer interesting work, flexibility and strong communication to motivate interest and improve results.

• Manage collaboration: Provide steady context, feedback and guidance at each project stage, but also foster autonomy, even while directing efforts toward strategic goals. A dynamic balance of these qualities drives optimal outcomes.

• Continue expanding your talent pool: Add proven freelancers to an internal database for repeat engagements, and notify talent about new initiatives for which their expertise would provide an edge. Uncovering additional ways, freelancers can enhance the business deepens the relationship.

Top platforms for connecting with talent

Now comes the hard part: finding contractors who bring fractional expertise sets. There are a growing number of platforms, of course, but I’ve found that the following stand out as leaders:

Fiverr: Ideal for execs seeking design, digital marketing, writing, video and admin support. Known for affordability and ease of posting jobs. It taps a global talent pool, too.

Upwork: A flexible platform that spans more than 150 skills. Used by everyone from small businesses to global enterprises. Strong at IT, development, design, finance and consulting.

Toptal: Focuses exclusively on the top 3% of talent. Best for expert software developers, designers, project managers and finance experts. All contributors are extensively vetted.

Contra: A growing independent platform that vets and connects both job candidates and hiring companies. Best of all, it doesn’t take a commission from projects.

The numbers speak for themselves: businesses engaging freelance professionals report greater confidence and competitiveness, as well as the ability to withstand turbulence, yet legacy beliefs can still cause hesitancy among those keen to hire.
