Stackhouse Burgers in Dallas closing temporarily after fire causes ‘significant damage’

A burger joint in Old East Dallas is temporarily closing after a fire Friday night caused “significant damage” to the building.

Stackhouse Burgers said in a Facebook post that no one was harmed by the fire, but the establishment will have to close because of the extent of the damage.

Dallas Fire-Rescue crews were called to the restaurant, at 2917 Gaston Ave., about 10:15 p.m. and extinguished the fire shortly before midnight. Crews responded to reports about a single-car crash that may have started the fire, D-FR spokeswoman Susana Solis said.

A charred car is seen near the business in a photo accompanying the restaurant’s Facebook post. It’s not clear what led to the crash.

The cause of the fire and “any relation to a motor vehicle accident” is under investigation, Solis said.

“The safety and well-being of our patrons and employees have always been our utmost priority, and we are profoundly grateful for your understanding and support during this difficult time,” the restaurant’s Facebook post said.
