Google Now Lets You Change Your @gmail.com Address
You Can Now Change Your Gmail Address!
Google has a new feature! Now, people in the U.S. can change their @gmail.com email address or create a new one. This means you can choose a new username for your Gmail account.
What’s New?
This feature first appeared in October 2025. It was found in some Google accounts but was not available in the U.S. At last, starting today, Google says you can customize your @gmail address if you live in the United States.
Before this, you could only change the alias for your email.
Now, if you want, you can change your Gmail address to a new one that still ends in @gmail.com.
How to Change Your Gmail Address
Changing your Gmail address is easy! Just follow these steps:
- Go to your Google Account settings.
- Find the option to change your email.
- Enter your new username.
- Make sure your new username is unique and not used by anyone else.
- After you choose a username, click “Change email,” and then select “Yes, change email.”
After making this change, your old email address will change to your new one. The new username will show in all your Google services, like Gmail, Photos, and Drive.
If you do not see this option, it might not be available to you yet.
What Happens to Your Old Email Address?
If you change your address, don’t worry! Google will not delete your old username. It will still be linked to your account, and no one else can use it.
Conclusion
This new feature makes it easier for you to have a Gmail address that you like. Be sure to check your Google Account settings to see if you can change your email address today!
