How to Use PAX Plus

The PAX Plus vaporizer is extremely easy to use. First, just select the right type of chamber for you. If you are vaporizing dry herbs, you’ll use the dry herb vaporizer, and if vaporizing concentrates, you use the concentrate insert.

Then, with the chamber full, either with dry herb or concentrate, insert it into the PAX Plus. With the chamber inserted, all you have to do is turn it on.

The PAX Plus should heat up instantly. At this point, all you have to do is push the button, take a pull, inhale, and start to feel the relaxing effects of your dry herb or concentrates.

If you’re vaping concentrates, it heats up even faster than when you vape dry herb. When vaping dry herb, you’ll have to wait for about 20 seconds for it to heat up, but that’s still pretty quick.

There are also four vaporizing modes to choose from, including efficiency, boost, flavor, and stealth. We’ll explain these in greater detail further below.

  •       One of the main features here, of course, is that this particular vaporizer can handle both flowers and concentrates. It comes complete with inserts designed for both dry herbs and concentrates. You just have to choose the right insert, fill it, and put it in the vape.
  •       You’ll also like how this unit has a very fast heat time. This is particularly the case if we are talking about a dry herb. It takes just around 20 seconds, which isn’t the fastest heat-up out there, but it’s still pretty respectable. You don’t have to wait for a long time for your herb to heat up so you can take some hits.
  •       What also stands out is that the PAX Plus vaporizer comes complete with a rechargeable battery that lasts for up to around 2.5 hours or between 8 and 10 vaping sessions. Technically speaking, it should last for around 250 pulls. For those of you who don’t know, that battery life is quite impressive when compared to other vaporizers out there.
  •       The magnetic oven lid connection is also a pretty neat addition to the box. This means that the oven stays shut unless you choose to open it, so your dry herb or concentrates stay where they’re supposed to be.

Ease of Use

As we’ve mentioned a couple of times now in the PAX Plus review, this vaporizer is exceedingly easy to use. All you have to do is fill your insert of choice with either dry herb or concentrate, put it in the vaporizer, turn it on, push a button, and take a pull. It really doesn’t get much easier than that. It even comes complete with a special 3D oven screen that you can take off completely for ease of cleaning. It’s definitely one of the most user-friendly units on the market at this time.

Temperature Controls

Now, the PAX Plus vaporizer doesn’t have temperature controls per se. You can’t choose a specific temperature. However, it does come complete with those four session modes: boost, flavor, stealth, and efficiency. 

These are essentially the different temperature settings because they determine the vaporizing experience that you get. It’s not absolutely perfect, but it’s still more than good enough, and most people are more than happy with those four modes.


The vast majority of this unit, particularly the body, is made with aluminum alloy. This allows for lightweight durability because this aluminum alloy doesn’t weigh very much, yet it is still scratch and impact resistant.

This is the kind of vaporizer that you can drop a couple of times without having to worry too much about it breaking. All of the internal components are also designed to be fairly durable.


You might also appreciate how this vaporizer comes in four different colors, Onyx (which is essentially black), Periwinkle, Elderberry, and Sage. We do like how there is a bit of selection here.

Vapor Quality

The vapor quality from the PAX Plus is actually very high. The reason for this is thanks to those four different session modes. 

You can achieve the vapor quality, consistency, and flavor that you need with every single hit. All the internal components are very high-quality, and they’re designed to produce the best result possible. This unit allows for smooth yet thick clouds.

Battery Life

Most people will also appreciate the battery life here, which is around 2.5 hours, 250 hits, or between 8 and 10 sessions. That’s quite impressive when compared to other vaporizers out there. No, it’s not the best battery life in the whole world, but it’s certainly nothing to look down at.

How to Clean PAX Plus               

To clean your PAX Plus, remove the dry herb that’s already been vaped and wipe down the inside of the oven chamber with a cotton swab or paper towel. However, you can also do a more intensive cleaning process. 

First, remove the oven lid on the bottom. You can then remove the 3D screen and soak it in a dish with alcohol. Take a cotton swab and dip it in some isopropyl alcohol, and clean out the oven. Then use some paper towel to remove any remaining alcohol and to dry the unit. As you can see, cleaning this unit is very easy.

On the outside, both of these units look more or less the same. They have the same design, the same shape, come with similar accessories, and are both designed for both concentrates and dry herbs.

What’s pretty cool about the PAX 3 is that it also comes with four settings with specific temperatures, but you also have access to those experience modes through the smartphone app. What really stands out about the PAX Plus is that it’s much easier to use and clean.

Is the PAX Plus Worth Upgrading from the PAX 3?

If you want a super simple and easy-to-use vaporizer, then the PAX Plus is definitely worth the slightly higher price when compared to the PAX 3. It’s just a bit more user-friendly and designed for people on the go.
