Google Offers Free AI Certificate for Eligible U.S. Small Businesses

Google has launched a new program called the Google AI Professional Certificate. This is a self-paced course that teaches important skills like data analysis, content creation, and coding.

What You Get

Everyone who enrolls in this program receives three months of free access to Google AI Pro. If you’re a small business in the U.S. with 500 or fewer employees, you may qualify to access the entire program for free.

You can find the certificate on platforms like Coursera, Google Skills, and Udemy. Normally, this subscription costs $49 per month in the U.S. and Canada.

Course Details

The program consists of seven modules, each taking about an hour to complete. You don’t need any prior experience in AI to join.

Participants will engage in over 20 hands-on activities, which include:

• Creating presentations and marketing materials
• Conducting research
• Building infographics
• Analyzing data
• Developing custom apps without coding

Once you finish all the modules, you’ll earn a Google certificate. This certificate can be added to your LinkedIn profile and shared with potential employers.

Free Access for Small Businesses

Google is providing this certificate at no cost to eligible small and medium-sized businesses in the U.S. These businesses must:

• Have 500 or fewer employees
• Be registered in the U.S.
• Submit their Employer Identification Number (EIN) via a dedicated application on Coursera

The verification process takes about 5-7 business days. You can also apply through Grow with Google. Google is partnering with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and America’s Small Business Development Centers to help distribute the program.

Benefits of the Program

This program builds on a previous course called Google AI Essentials, which was very popular. The AI Professional Certificate offers more advanced topics focusing on real-world applications.

Participants will learn how to use tools like Gemini, NotebookLM, and Google AI Studio, which are part of Google’s technology ecosystem. Unlike some other programs that charge fees, the new AI Professional Certificate comes with no exam fees.
