Right Way To Introduce Your Child to the Technical World

Today’s generation kids are born intelligent and can easily grasp anything quicker than us. In today’s tech-centric world, STEM (which stands for science, technology, engineering, and math) skills are in demand like never before. There are many jobs available in the market which demand STEM skills and which can be developed from the childhood.

But how do we ensure that our children are fully equipped and—just as importantly—excited to succeed in tech throughout school, college, and their future careers?

Perhaps you’ve been trying to engage your son or daughter in engineering but it’s just not sticking. Maybe you dream that they’ll find their calling as a web designer, software developer, or graphic artist, but they show no technical inclination. They may be vocal about their disinterest or ambiguous, but don’t give up!
There are countless approaches to instilling a love for technology, but there’s no magic formula that works for every student. As a parent, it’s a game of trial and error, and the sooner you begin, the better your odds of opening your child’s eyes to a world of creative possibilities in tech.

1. Create the ultimate STEM toy collection

Gone are the days of pink everything (Dolls) for girls and Blue everything (Model cars and action figures) for boys. Today’s top educational toy-makers are coming up with the games by breaking down gender barriers. Many young engineers gathered together and introduced unisex techie games with their start-ups and Young boys and girls can expand their creative horizons and learn about engineering, circuitry, coding, and more in a fun, accessible way.

2. Surprise your Kid with DIY Kit

Surprise your child with innovative techie kit as a gift on his/her birthday. They’ll have a blast experimenting with tech gadgets alongside their closest friends (and won’t even realize they’re learning). Find such kit on online shopping sites.

3. Organize a party for your child’s friends

Invite your child’s closest friends, gather the neighborhood kids, and get you DIY Kit! There are many DIY kits available in the market/online which provides all the materials and tutorials you need to get started on your own. The best part? It’s fun for everyone involved and unknowingly they start learning on their own.

4. Become the student

Grab a “Learn-It-Yourself” Kit and let your child teach YOU about its application, features and lessons. It doesn’t matter if you’re already a techie person. Positioning your child as “teacher” is the ultimate role-reversal and will empower them to put their technical know-how to good use. Never underestimate the sense of pride that comes with teaching mom or dad some new tech tricks!

5. Introduce awesome tech role models

All of us are well familiar with Mark Zuckerberg (Founder of Facebook), like him, there are many tech role models in the world. Success stories always make a big difference. You can tell their achievement stories to your kids and which can definitely inspire, motivate your kid to take the first step into the Tech world.
Every kid can learn, it’s just that they learn in different ways. Thus, Parents should always find innovative ways to help the kids in learning!!

6. Enrol in a summer tech camp

For a fun, more immersive tech learning experience, consider a day or overnight summer technology camp.
Summer tech programs have become a nationwide necessity due to the lack of CS in schools, and depending on where you live, you may find numerous options nearby. There are many Organizations who arranges such summer camps or crash courses which will help children when it comes to sparking and sustaining students’ passion for STEM. 7. Embrace the value of learning videos

The internet is overflowing lot of videos where we learn just by sitting at home. We can showcase such videos to kids instead of handing over the mobile phones to them.
To start this, you need to spend time with your kids and first study what all latest learning videos are trending in the market. There are lot many videos available on internet with detailed information given in fun learning way with animated character and stories. Also a lesson is being provided at the end of the video. After watching the videos ask your kid as many questions as you can and eventually you will come to know, if your kid finds it interesting or not.

8. Encourage out-of-the-box thinking

Whether your child is 9, 12, 19, or somewhere in between, seize every opportunity to encourage their creativity, out-of-the-box thinking, and on-the-spot problem-solving. These are the skills that future recruiters and high-tech employers want to see—the same skills that will empower your child to reach their full potential in school, college, their dream career, and their personal life.

Google Adds If-Modified-Since Section To Crawl Budget Help Document

Google has added a new section to the crawl budget management help document. The new section is for the If-Modified-Since request header. The section is titled “Specify content changes with HTTP status codes.”

Google wrote, “Google generally supports the If-Modified-Since and If-None-Match HTTP request headers for crawling. Google’s crawlers don’t send the headers with all crawl attempts; it depends on the use case of the request (for example, AdsBot is more likely to set the If-Modified-Since and If-None-Match HTTP request headers).”

“If our crawlers send the If-Modified-Since header, the header’s value is the date and time the content was last crawled. Based on that value, the server may choose to return a 304 (Not Modified) HTTP status code with no response body, in which case Google will reuse the content version it crawled the last time. If the content is newer than the date specified by the crawler in the If-Modified-Since header, the server can return a 200 (OK) HTTP status code with the response body.”

“Independently of the request headers, you can send a 304 (Not Modified) HTTP status code and no response body for any Googlebot request if the content hasn’t changed since Googlebot last visited the URL. This will save your server processing time and resources, which may indirectly improve crawl efficiency.”

I am not sure if I have any commentary on this, outside of the fact that this new section was added to this page.
