Outlook Issues Reported Yesterday – Widespread Login Problems Affect Many Users
Microsoft Outlook experienced a prolonged period of disruptions yesterday, affecting both personal and business users. The issues began shortly before 10 a.m. and were reported across multiple regions, including the United Kingdom and the United States.
According to the outage tracking platform Downdetector, hundreds of reports were submitted within a short time frame.
The majority of the issues were related to login failures, with approximately 64% of users stating they were unable to access their accounts. Around 10% reported problems receiving emails, while the remaining 24% experienced various other issues within the app and web service.
Given that Outlook is widely used for both professional and personal communication, the outage caused significant disruption, particularly during the start of the working day.
Increased activity also detected by Entireweb Status
The monitoring service Entireweb Status also recorded a sharp increase in user reports during the same period. Traffic related to errors rose by approximately 400%, increasing from around 5 reports per hour to a peak of about 30 reports per hour. This suggests that the issue affected a broad user base rather than isolated cases.
Microsoft response and service status
At the time of the incident, Microsoft had not released a detailed technical explanation for the disruption. However, such outages are typically temporary and are often resolved within a relatively short period.
Summary
Outlook experienced a significant disruption yesterday, primarily affecting login and email access. Data from Downdetector along with increased reporting on Entireweb Status confirm that the issue had a widespread impact, with a clear spike in reports during the morning hours.
